Carlos R. Zayas-Torres, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist with the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute. He is dedicated to providing patients compassionate care with the most advanced technologies and clinical treatments.
Dr. Zayas-Torres earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine where he also completed an internal medicine specialty and cardiology fellowship. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology from the University of Puerto Rico, graduating magna cum laude.
Dr. Zayas-Torres is board certified in cardiology by the American College of Cardiology and in internal medicine by the American College of Internal Medicine. Previously, he served as medical director of the cardiology section at the Doctor’s Center Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also was the founder and medical director of the chest pain unit at Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital in San Juan.
In addition to being published in several peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national conferences, Dr. Zayas-Torres is an experienced clinical investigator and has participated in six significant studies. He is licensed in Florida and Puerto Rico and is fluent in English and Spanish.
