Bio
Dr. Chanlir Segarra is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute. She diagnoses and treats disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, and her specialties include:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Constipation and diarrhea
- Colorectal cancer
- Celiac disease
- Abdominal pain and bloating
- Swallowing problems
- Eosinophilic esophagitis
- Peptic ulcer disease
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Liver disease
Dr. Segarra believes in patient-centered care grounded in compassion, empathy and respect. She focuses on understanding each patient’s unique digestive health needs and ensuring they feel heard and supported throughout the diagnostic and treatment process. Her personalized approach aims to promote long-term digestive wellness and improve overall quality of life.
Dr. Segarra’s Training
Dr. Segarra graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, and received her medical degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she served as chief resident in her final year. She completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where she served as chief fellow.
About Dr. Segarra
Dr. Segarra is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and her professional memberships include the American College of Gastroenterology and Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Her research has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and she has delivered presentations at national conferences.
Dr. Segarra played basketball at Berry College, earning all-conference recognition and selection to the National Academic All-America Team.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, exploring new places, and staying active through fitness classes and running.
