Bio
Christina Covelli, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with the Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute. She specializes in preventing, diagnosing and treating digestive tract, liver and pancreatic disorders and has special interest in irritable bowel syndrome and colorectal cancer.
Diagnosis
Dr. Covelli’s clinical interests include:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Peptic ulcer disease
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Colorectal cancer
- Treatment of pancreas and liver disease
Dr. Covelli’s Training
As an undergraduate, Dr. Covelli double majored in zoology and chemistry at North Carolina State University in Raleigh before earning her medical degree at the University of Florida, College of Medicine in Gainesville. She went on to complete postdoctoral training at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, including a residency in internal medicine, fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology, and master’s degree in public health.

Dr. Covelli is certified in gastroenterology and hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterological Association. Her work has been published in Gastroenterology & Hepatology, a peer-reviewed journal, and she has contributed to two medical books.
