Bio
Dr. Clayton Bauer is a board-certified neurological surgeon with Orlando Health Spine Center, which is a multidisciplinary collaboration between Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute and Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute. He has more than 10 years of experience, and his expertise includes:

Dr. Bauer’s Training
Dr. Bauer earned a bachelor’s degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, graduating cum laude. He received his medical degree and a doctorate (PhD) in pharmacology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and completed a neurological surgery residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
About Dr. Bauer
Dr. Bauer is a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and he is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. His professional memberships include the North American Spine Society and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Bauer’s work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals and book chapters, and he has presented at national conferences. He also holds a patent for a medical device aimed at reducing the invasiveness of surgical procedures.
Outside of work, Dr. Bauer enjoys college football, recreational sports and staying active in his church.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
