Courtney Swallows is a certified physician assistant (PA-C) with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute specializing in cardiovascular disease. Her experience includes:
- Taking medical histories and performing physical exams
- Conducting nuclear stress tests
- Interpreting diagnostic testing including EKGs, X-rays and lab studies
- Managing cardiac disease
Courtney believes the best care is achieved through a patient-centered approach with shared decision-making. She wants to make sure every patient feels heard and emphasizes the importance of disease prevention and overall wellness.
Courtney’s Training
Courtney earned a bachelor's degree in molecular and cellular biology from Colorado College in Colorado Springs and a master’s in physician assistant studies from the University of Colorado in Aurora.
About Courtney
Courtney is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and her professional memberships include the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Florida Academy of PAs.
A student-athlete in college, Courtney was captain of the Colorado College women's basketball team and served on the NCAA student-athlete advisory committee.
Her volunteer work has taken her to Haiti working with LiveBeyond to provide basic medical care to the people of Thomazeau. She also has assisted in meal prep at the Denver Rescue Mission in Colorado.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and taking her dog out boating. She also likes to ski and hike when she makes it back to Colorado.
