Dr. Daniel Miller is a fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon at Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. With a specialty in sports medicine, Dr. Miller often works with athletes of all levels from high school, college and professional to the weekend warrior who wants to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Dr. Miller performs a variety of procedures including:
- Knee arthroscopy for meniscal and ligamentous injury, including repair and reconstruction
- Shoulder arthroscopy for rotator cuff injuries and shoulder instability
- Replacement of the knee and shoulder
- Open surgery for multi-ligamentous reconstruction of the knee and Achilles tendon
- Fracture repair of the ankle, wrist, clavicle and shoulder
Dr. Miller also aims to ease patients’ symptoms with lifestyle changes and other non-surgical options when possible.
Dr. Miller’s Training
Dr. Miller earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee. His orthopedic surgery residency was completed at Orlando Health. He also completed a dedicated specialized fellowship in orthopedic surgery sports medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, where he served as an assistant team physician for Georgia Tech University athletics, the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA.
About Dr. Miller
Dr. Miller is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He has research interest in all facets of sports medicine, including rotator cuff injury pathology and care as well as ACL reconstruction, particularly with the quadriceps tendon autograft.
Outside of work, Dr. Miller is a married father of two who enjoys spending as much time with his family as possible. He also likes golf, exercise and watching college athletics, particularly the Florida Gators. Dr. Miller is fluent in English and Spanish.
