Bio
Dr. David Heiman is a board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute. He has more than 30 years of experience, and his specialties include:
- Colon cancer screening
- Endoscopy
- Hepatitis
- Liver disease
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
Dr. Heiman’s Training
Dr. Heiman graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in zoology at the University of Florida in Gainesville and received his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital in Gainesville and a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.

Dr. Heiman is board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His professional memberships include the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Physicians, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American College of Gastroenterology.
Outside of work, Dr. Heiman enjoys spending time with family, tennis and golf.
He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
