Bio
Egerton K. van den Berg, Jr., MD, is a board-certified cardiologist with Orlando Health Heart Institute. He specializes in cardiovascular diseases and places a strong emphasis on preventative measures such as diagnostic testing, early treatment, and positive lifestyle changes.
Dr. van den Berg earned his medical degree from Duke University Medical School in Durham, North Carolina, and a bachelor’s of science degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where he graduated magna cum laude. He completed his internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center and clinical and research fellowships at several healthcare facilities in Dallas, including the University of Texas Health Science Center. He also completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
Dr. van den Berg is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, and Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He also is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
