Bio
Dr. Eric Wu is a fellowship-trained head and neck surgical oncologist and reconstructive surgeon with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. His expertise includes:
- Oral cavity, oropharynx and larynx cancer
- Thyroid cancer
- Head and neck skin cancer
- Salivary gland tumors
- Transoral robotic surgery
- Microvascular reconstruction and free tissue transfer
Having witnessed cancer in his family, Dr. Wu hopes to be an advocate and resource for patients from diagnosis through treatment and recovery. His goal is to provide compassionate and individualized care, integrating an individual’s needs and priorities into medical decision-making.
Dr. Wu’s Training
Dr. Wu received his bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his master’s degree in medical sciences from Boston University. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he also received a master’s in clinical anatomy. He completed his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and his fellowship in advanced head and neck oncologic and microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
About Dr. Wu
Dr. Wu’s work has been published in leading peer-reviewed medical journals, and he has received several research awards. His primary research interests include predictors of survival in head and neck cancer and improvement of functional outcomes following head and neck reconstruction.
Outside of work, Dr. Wu enjoys golf, scuba diving and playing piano.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
