Bio
Dr. Freddy Escobar is a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurologist with the Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neuroimmunological disorders, including:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder
- Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disease
- Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis
- Neurosarcoidosis
- Immune-mediated myelopathies
- Autoimmune encephalitis
- Neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease
- Clinical neurophysiology
As a proud member of the Hispanic community, Dr. Escobar values caring for patients in Orlando and connecting with them in their own language and culture. He takes a thorough, patient-centered approach, focusing on simplifying treatments, emphasizing what is most effective and working alongside patients as true partners in their care. His goal is to help patients feel comfortable, supported and confident in their health journey.
Dr. Escobar’s Training
Dr. Escobar received his medical training at Universidad Surcolombiana in Neiva, Colombia. He completed a neurology residency at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
About Dr. Escobar
Dr. Escobar is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is licensed in Florida. He volunteered as a language interpreter with Healing the Children in Colombia.
Outside of work, Dr. Escobar enjoys being outdoors, spending time with animals, exploring music and vinyl collecting.
He is fluent in English, Spanish and French.

Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
