George Eldayrie, MD, is a board-certified primary care sports medicine physician with the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. He treats professional and amateur athletes and those with active lifestyles. For those who experience injury, he provides non-surgical orthopedic care, including fracture management, ultrasound guided joint and MSK injections, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), diagnostic MSK ultrasound, and sports-related concussion diagnosis and management. He also treats chronic orthopedic medical conditions such as arthritis, tendinitis, and joint pains as well as medical conditions pertaining to the athlete.
Sports Medicine and Non-surgical Orthopedics
Dr. Eldayrie provides comprehensive primary care sports medicine treatment to amateur and professional athletes, including the care of orthopedic complaints and injuries for active patients, with non-surgical approaches such as ultrasound guided injections and regenerative medicine with PRP and treats acute injuries such as fractures, muscle strain, knee injuries, shoulder injuries and more.
Once he has evaluated the severity of a patient’s injury, he develops a personalized treatment plan to help return them to mobility and their athletic lifestyle. He also cares for those with common overuse injuries like tendinitis and stress fractures and those suffering from degenerative joint conditions such as arthritis. Dr. Eldayrie works closely and collaboratively with his patient’s orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers and primary care physicians to ensure each patient has a personalized and effective treatment plan. He prides himself on treating every patient like a member of his own family.
Dr. Eldayrie’s Training
Dr. Eldayrie earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and medical degree from the University of Florida (UF) School of Medicine in Gainesville. He also completed his family medicine residency at UF, serving as chief resident during his final year. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he received extensive training in sports medicine ultrasound. Prior to joining Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, he practiced sports medicine in Tampa.
About Dr. Eldayrie
Dr. Eldayrie is a native of Buffalo, New York, and a prior Division 1 athlete. During medical school and residency at the University of Florida, he received extensive recognition for excellence and distinguished service, including induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, awards for excellence in family medicine and sports medicine, and the Family Medicine Resident Award for Scholarship.
Throughout his education and career, Dr. Eldayrie has served performing artists and dozens of high school, college and professional sports teams. Currently, he serves as a network regional physician for US soccer, co-medical director of the Arnold Palmer Invitational PGA event, head team physician for Legacy High Schools and Montverde Academy, and is one of the team physicians for the Orlando City and Orlando Pride soccer teams.
Dr. Eldayrie is board certified by the American Board of Family Physicians, with extra certification of added qualification in sports medicine, and has published his work in the peer-reviewed Journal of Family Practice.
In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, playing golf, exercising, and spending time with his wife and their two sons.
