Bio
Dr. Gerald “Trey” Alexander III is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. He specializes in minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery, and his expertise includes:
- Partial and total hip and knee replacements
- Revision and treatment of painful or failed hip and knee replacements
- Complex hip and knee reconstruction
- Non-surgical treatment of the hip and knee
- Outpatient joint replacement
Dr. Alexander’s Training
Dr. Alexander earned bachelor’s degrees in exercise and sport science at the University of Florida in Gainesville and in biomedical sciences at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He also received his medical degree from USF, where he completed an orthopedic surgery residency. Dr. Alexander completed his fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

Dr. Alexander is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. His professional memberships include the National Physicians Alliance, Florida Orthopaedic Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Dr. Alexander’s research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, and he serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty.
Outside of work, Dr. Alexander enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
