Bio
Dr. Hunter Rafoth is a primary care sports medicine physician with the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. He treats professional and amateur athletes and those with active lifestyles. When they are injured, he provides nonsurgical orthopedic care, and his specialties include:
- Fracture management
- Ultrasound guided joint and MSK injections
- Platelet-rich plasma
- Diagnostic MSK ultrasound
- Sports-related concussion diagnosis and management
- Treatment of chronic conditions such as arthritis, tendinitis and joint pain
- Management of sports injuries and return to play planning
- Health and exercise recommendations
Dr. Rafoth’s Training
Dr. Rafoth received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering with honors and his medical degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He completed a family medicine residency at Orlando Health Bayfront Health Family Medicine in St. Petersburg and a sports medicine fellowship at Cone Health Primary Care Sports Medicine in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he received extensive training in sports medicine ultrasound.
About Dr. Rafoth
Dr. Rafoth’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and American College of Sports Medicine. He has presented his work at national conferences.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, beach volleyball and golf, line dancing and going on walks with his wife and dog, Finn. Dr. Rafoth also likes cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks and Tampa Bay teams.
