Dr. Igor Areinamo is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric cardiovascular intensive care physician at The Heart Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He specializes in treating heart conditions in children and has experience in:
- Single ventricle management
- Circulatory mechanical support
- Anticoagulation
- Acquired heart disease
Dr. Areinamo’s Training
Dr. Areinamo received his medical training from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Saint Kitts and Nevis. He was the chief resident during the final year of his pediatric residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. He then completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Utah and a pediatric critical care fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was named outstanding fellow educator of the year two years in a row.
About Dr. Areinamo
Dr. Areinamo is board-certified in cardiology and pediatrics with the American Board of Pediatrics. He is also affiliated with the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and the American College of Cardiology, among other medical organizations.
He has delivered lectures in the cardiology and critical care fields on topics such as mechanical ventilation, ventricular septal defects, myocarditis and Kawasaki disease.
Outside of work, Dr. Areinamo enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and three daughters, particularly at the beach. He also likes to play softball and golf. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
