Bio
Dr. Jacob Cox is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. He is passionate about providing patients the ability to return to activities that give their lives meaning, and his expertise includes:
- Shoulder and elbow surgery
- Adult reconstruction hip, knee and shoulder surgery

Dr. Cox’s Training
Dr. Cox earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. He received his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he completed an orthopedic surgery residency. Dr. Cox’s training continued with a shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship with the Texas Education and Research Foundation for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in Houston.
About Dr. Cox
Dr. Cox is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and holds additional certification in Mako robotic surgery. His professional memberships include the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Southern Medical Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Cox enjoys spending time with family, hiking, fishing, scuba diving and traveling. He also stays active in his church and his children’s school.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
