Dr. Joel Martin is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at the Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute. He surgically treats diseases and injuries to the brain, spine and spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. He has a keen interest in neurosurgical spine surgery, including minimally-invasive surgery, robotic spine surgery, revision spine surgery, spinal tumors, and scoliosis surgery.

Dr. Martin also is a noted researcher in the development and implantation of electronic interfaces with the nervous system and stem cell transplantation for patients with spinal cord injuries and other central nervous system disorders.
Dr. Martin’s Training
Dr. Martin earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University in New York and received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. He completed a residency in neurosurgery at the University of California San Diego and performed a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of Miami.
