Bio
Dr. Jose Rivera Jimenez is a board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist and fellowship-trained cardiologist with Orlando Health Medical Group Cardiology. He is skilled in all areas of non-invasive cardiovascular disease, and his expertise includes:
- Electrocardiograms
- Echocardiograms
- Holter and event monitoring
- Stress testing
- Outpatient cardiology
- Nuclear cardiology
- Atrial fibrillation
- Coronary artery disease
- Congestive heart failure

Dr. Rivera models his patient care after his father, a cardiologist in rural Puerto Rico, by providing compassionate and dedicated care, with open communication to ensure that patients feel informed and empowered to make health-related decisions. He is dedicated to staying current with developments in cardiovascular research and therapies with a special focus on prevention.
Dr. Rivera’s Training
Dr. Rivera earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. He received his medical training at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology with the Veterans Affairs Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan.
About Dr. Rivera
Dr. Rivera is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and in echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography. His professional memberships include the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and American College of Cardiology.
Outside of work, Dr. Rivera enjoys spending time with his children, cycling, traveling and playing guitar.
He is fluent in English and Spanish.
