Jose R. Rosado, MD, FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist with Orlando Health Medical Group FHV Health. He specializes in cardiovascular disease, and his predominant clinical interests are: preventive cardiology; management of complex heart failure; hypercholesterolemia; and peripheral and venous disease.
Cardiovascular Disease
The most common cardiovascular condition is coronary artery disease, which is narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. This may cause chest pain, heart attacks or stroke. Other cardiovascular diseases include congestive heart failure, heart rhythm problems, congenital heart disease, and endocarditis.
For those in need of treatment, one area of focus for Dr. Rosado is conditions affecting the lower extremities and carotid arteries. Many blockages may be treated using minimally invasive techniques, including angioplasty and stents, while more severe diseases may require bypass surgery.
Dr. Rosado often counsels patients on the hereditary and lifestyle risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease. One major risk factor is smoking, and others include obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, family history and more.
