Bio
Dr. Joseph Wasselle is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon with Orlando Health Medical Group Vascular Surgery. He has more than 35 years of experience, and his specialties include:
- Aortic aneurysm surgery and stents
- Carotid artery surgery and stents
- Lower extremity arterial surgery and stents
- Dialysis access surgery
- Robotic and laparoscopic surgery

Dr. Wasselle’s Training
Dr. Wasselle received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, graduating cum laude. He earned his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency, vascular surgery fellowship and tumor immunology and oncology research fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he served as chief resident.
About Dr. Wasselle
Dr. Wasselle is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and his professional memberships include the Florida Medical Association, Florida Surgical Society, Society of General Surgeons and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
For six years, Dr. Wasselle was named one of America's Top Surgeons and recognized as a Distinguished Physician by the Florida Medical Association.
Dr. Wasselle’s work as a principal investigator in many research trials has been published extensively, and he has presented at national conferences. He teaches surgeons around the world about spinal access surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Wasselle enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, tennis and boating.
