Bio
Joseph “Joey” Lavallee is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with Orlando Health Medical Group Surgery. His specialties include:
- Burn wounds and scarring
- General surgery
- Wound management
- Rib fractures and other traumatic injuries
- Hidradenitis suppurativa
- Feeding tube management
With more than a decade of nursing experience at Orlando Health, Joey is passionate about guiding patients through the healing process, particularly those recovering from traumatic injuries and burns. He focuses on education and empowerment, ensuring every patient understands their care plan and plays an active role in their recovery.
Joey’s Training
Joey earned an associate degree in nursing at Valencia College in Orlando. He received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas in Arlington and his Master of Science in nursing on the family nurse practitioner track from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
About Joey
Joey is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He is also a certified burn registered nurse (CBRN) and is licensed as an APRN and a registered nurse in Florida.
His professional memberships include the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and American Burn Association.
Outside of work, Joey enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, cooking, fishing and CrossFit.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
