Bio
Dr. Justin Merritt is a fellowship-trained electrophysiologist with Orlando Health Medical Group Cardiology. He diagnoses and treats heart rhythm issues including:
- Atrial fibrillation
- Atrial flutter
- Bradycardia
- Tachycardia
Dr. Merritt implants traditional and leadless pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization devices. He also is skilled in nuclear cardiology, general cardiology and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Merritt’s Training
He received his bachelor’s degree in zoology, graduating cum laude, from the University of Florida in Gainesville and his medical training from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada. Dr. Merritt completed his internal medicine residency at UF, his cardiovascular imaging fellowship at the Gainesville VA Medical Center and his general cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at UF.
About Dr. Merritt
Dr. Merritt is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
His volunteer efforts have helped St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Heart Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Merritt enjoys scuba diving, fishing, sports, astronomy, cooking and reef tank husbandry.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
