Dr. Kaitlin Christopherson is a board-certified radiation oncologist with the Center for Advanced Radiation Therapy at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute.

She is skilled in advanced radiation techniques, including volumetric modulated arc therapy, image guided radiotherapy, total body radiation, total skin radiation, stereotactic body radiotherapy and proton therapy. Her specialties include:

  • Head and neck cancer
  • Skin cancer
  • Lymphoma, leukemia and myeloma
  • Kidney cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Bladder cancer

Dr. Christopherson has a special interest in patient education, shared decision-making and clinical quality improvement. She believes patients with cancer are unique and may need different treatment plans even if they have the same stage or type of cancer. She strives to understand a patient's values and wishes so she can provide the best care with less fear and more hope.

Dr. Christopherson’s Training

Dr. Christopherson earned her bachelor’s degree in integrative biology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she also received her medical degree with honors in research. She completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. During her residency, she was recognized for outstanding and compassionate clinical care and received the Mary Fletcher Memorial Award.

About Dr. Christopherson

She is certified by the American Board of Radiology Oncology and is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology.

Dr. Christopherson has published research in radiation oncology on topics including head and neck cancer outcomes, specialized radiation techniques for lymphoma, breast cancer outcomes and toxicities for patients with gastrointestinal malignancies.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children and family, exploring beaches and springs, and cheering on the Gators and Knights.
