Bio
Karen Jones is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with Orlando Health Physician Associates. Her specialty is internal medicine with expertise including:
- Diagnosing acute and chronic disease in adult patients
- Managing nursing home care for geriatric and rehabilitative services
- Directing and coordinating pharmacologic research studies for hypertension, diabetes, infectious disease, lipid and gastrointestinal disorders
She has spent more than two decades working in Central Florida as a nurse practitioner.
Karen’s Training
Karen earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She received her Master of Science in nursing (MSN), advanced practice registered nurse track, from the University of Florida in Gainesville

She has been a member of the clinical faculty at the University of Florida, the University of Central Florida in Orlando, University of South Florida in Tampa, University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, since 2001 working with medical students and nurse practitioner graduate students.
Karen is certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed as an APRN by the Florida Department of Health.
Her professional memberships include the Florida Nurses Association, Central Florida Advanced Nursing Practice Council and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
