Dr. Karuppiah "Kar" Arunachalam is a board-certified cardiovascular disease specialist with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute. He diagnoses and treats disorders of the heart and blood vessels, and he has expertise in:

Dr. Arunachalam has extensive training as an invasive and advanced cardiac imaging cardiologist and has more than 10 years of clinical experience. His board certifications also include internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, cardiac computed tomography (CT), echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Dr. Arunachalam focuses on an emphatic patient-centered and educational approach. He believes that every patient has a story and that it's important to spend time listening to their concerns and answering questions.
Dr. Arunachalam’s Training
He received his medical training at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Coimbatore, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his fellowship in general cardiology at Aultman Hospital at North East Ohio Medical Education University in Canton. He received advanced cardiac imaging training at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital in Ohio. Dr. Arunachalam also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Cardiovascular Research Center at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Dr. Arunachalam is board certified in internal medical and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography. He also is certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, Certification Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
Dr. Arunachalam’s work has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he has reviewed several clinical research studies for medical publications. His professional memberships include the American College of Cardiology and American Medical Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Arunachalam enjoys spending time with family, traveling, gardening, table tennis and soccer. He is fluent in English and Tamil.
