Bio
Dr. Khaled Abdelmagid, who goes by “Dr. Shams,” is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric critical care medicine physician at Orlando Health Children’s Heart Institute. He cares for young patients with serious or life-threatening conditions, and his expertise includes:
- Pediatric critical care
- Pediatric cardiac critical care
- Pediatric cardiology
- Cardiac imaging
- Electrophysiology
He provides evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Dr. Shams’ Training
Dr. Shams received his medical training from the University of Cairo Medical School in Egypt and completed his pediatric residency at the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Mobile. He completed fellowships in pediatric critical care at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in New York, pediatric cardiac critical care at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and pediatric cardiology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.

Dr. Shams is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care by the American Board of Pediatrics. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Shams enjoys running marathons. He is fluent in English and Arabic.

Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
