Bio
Lauren Thomas is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and certified pediatric nurse practitioner – primary care (CPNP-PC) with the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. She works in the pediatric hematology-oncology unit at the Haley Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders, and her experience includes:
- Bone marrow aspiration
- Bone marrow biopsy
- Lumbar puncture procedures
Lauren provides each patient with the highest quality of holistic and compassionate care and ensures that children and their families feel comfortable and prepared every step of the way. She believes family support and understanding are essential to each patient’s successful treatment.
Lauren’s Training
Lauren earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a bachelor’s in nursing at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where she was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society for nursing. Lauren received her Master of Science in nursing (MSN) with a concentration in certified pediatric nurse practitioner – primary care studies at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
About Lauren
Lauren is certified as an APRN by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as a certified pediatric nurse (CPN) and CPNP-PC by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
Before joining Orlando Health, Lauren worked as a bedside nurse in pediatric trauma and surgery departments, which included surgical oncology, for nearly 10 years. She was honored with the DAISY Award for nurses who go above and beyond to provide patients and families with excellence in clinical care and compassion.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, traveling and cheering on the UCF football team.
