Bio
Lena Afxendiou-Soares is a board-certified advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. She coordinates care and manages radiation treatments and their side effects for cancer patients. Her specialties include:
- Prostate cancer
- Survivorship
- Symptom management
- Radiation side effects
- Radiation oncologic emergencies
Lena strives to collaborate with her patients to honor their unique needs, preferences and values while developing individual treatment plans.
Lena’s Training
Lena earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and received her Master of Science in nursing (MSN) from the University of Tampa.
About Lena
Lena is certified as an APRN by the Florida Board of Nursing and as an adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, a designation for nurse practitioners who care for patients from the time they enter adulthood and as they continue to age. Lena also has experience in neuro-oncology.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, good wine and great food.
