Bio
Dr. Leopoldo Garcia Zapata is a fellowship-trained musculoskeletal radiologist with Orlando Health Medical Group Radiology. His expertise includes:
- X-rays
- Ultrasounds
- Computed tomography scans
- Magnetic resonance imaging scans
- Image-guided joint procedures
He believes in treating patients with empathy and respect while providing the highest standard of care through clear communication and collaboration.
Dr. Garcia Zapata’s Training
Dr. Garcia Zapata graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. He received his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Garcia Zapata completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore and his fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
About Dr. Garcia Zapata
Dr. Garcia Zapata has conducted clinical and imaging research in the fields of radiology, neuromodulation and public health, and his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America.
Outside of work, Dr. Garcia Zapata enjoys spending time with family, hiking and traveling. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
