Bio
Lesley Cooper is a certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) with Orlando Health Physician Associates. She has been a practicing nurse since 1996 and received her advanced certification in 2004.
As a family nurse practitioner, Lesley cares for patients from age 2 through advanced age. Her skills include:
- Performing physical exams
- Diagnostic decision-making
- Developing treatment plans
- Patient education
- Addiction medicine
- Pain management
- Hospice and palliative care
She also can perform procedures such as excision and punch biopsies, suturing and wound care.
Lesley’s Training
Lesley earned her doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) from the University of Florida College of Nursing in Gainesville. She received a master’s degree in nursing (MSN) from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
About Lesley
Lesley has experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, including an assignment caring for the U.S. embassy staff and family members in Bahrain. She is a peer reviewer for several nursing journals and is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Central Florida Advanced Nursing Practice Council.
Since 2012, Lesley has volunteered her time and skills as a family nurse practitioner, most recently for Shepherd’s Hope Health Center in Winter Garden.
