Dr. Jayaraj is a fellowship-trained and board-certified gastroenterologist with the Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases affecting the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and other digestive organs.

From the esophagus to the rectum, the digestive tract is extensive and requires an experienced gastroenterologist like Dr. Jayaraj to provide diagnosis and treatment based on diverse symptoms, advanced testing and minimally invasive surgery.
There are many procedures available to detect abnormalities, a few of which a gastroenterologist can perform include:
- Colonoscopy (screening, diagnostic, polyp removal, and treatment modalities to control bleeding)
- Upper endoscopy (EGD with diagnostic biopsy, banding treatment modalities to control bleeding, dilation and stenting for strictures)
- Push enteroscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Percutaneous endoscopic feeding tube insertions, exchange, and removal
Dr. Jayaraj’s Training
After earning his medical degree at Stanley Medical College in India, he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) School of Medicine on the Las Vegas campus and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Medicine.
About Dr. Jayaraj
Dr. Jayaraj spent several years working as an assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine on the Las Vegas campus, the University of Arizona Medical School in Tucson followed by UNLV school of medicine where he trained internal medicine residents and fellows in gastroenterology.
Active in his profession, Dr. Jayaraj has authored multiple publications including original manuscript articles/abstracts, book chapter, editorials, and review articles in peer-reviewed journals. He serves as a manuscript reviewer for 10 medical journals and is an editorial board member for another. He also has several professional memberships, including the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
