Bio
Dr. Martin Maldonado is a board-certified gastroenterologist with Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute. He has 25 years of experience diagnosing and treating diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, and his expertise includes:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease
- Diseases of the esophagus - stomach and small intestine
- Colorectal cancer
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Weight loss solutions
Dr. Maldonado’s Training
Dr. Maldonado received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan. He completed an internal medicine residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, and a fellowship in gastroenterology, digestive diseases and nutrition at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa.
About Dr. Maldonado
Dr. Maldonado is board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, and his professional memberships include American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Maldonado’s research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.
While serving in the U.S. Army, Dr. Maldonado received the Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding noncombat achievement.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time at the beach and deep-sea fishing. He has competed in several marlin tournaments. Born in Spain and raised in Puerto Rico, he is fluent in English and Spanish.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
