Dr. Marwan Mihyu is a board-certified cardiologist with Orlando Health Medical Group FHV Health. He specializes in cardiovascular disease and provides diagnosis and treatment for a broad range of cardiac conditions.
Cardiovascular Disease
For those in the early stages of disease, Dr. Mihyu provides preventative education about the hereditary and lifestyle risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease. The major risk factor is smoking, however others include obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, family history and more.
The most common cardiovascular disease is coronary artery disease, which is narrow or blocked coronary arteries. This may cause chest pain, heart attacks or stroke. Other cardiovascular diseases include congestive heart failure, heart rhythm problems, congenital heart disease and endocarditis.
For those in need of treatment, many blockages may be treated using minimally invasive techniques, including angioplasty and stents, while more severe disease may require bypass surgery.
