Board certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship trained in sports medicine, Dr. Hurbanis has special interests in shoulder, hip and knee care, sports medicine, joint replacement surgery and MAKOplasty robotic surgery.
“My love of the playing field exposed me not only to the thrill of the game, but also to the incidence of injury,�? he says. “Having an orthopedic doctor by my side to see me through my injuries and surgeries influenced my decision to pursue medicine as a career.�?
As an undergraduate, he played football on an athletic scholarship at the University of Florida (Gainesville) under Coach Steve Spurrier. He also went on to complete his medical training at the UF College of Medicine followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center. Dr. Hurbanis received fellowship training in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (Ohio).
Dr. Hurbanis serves as the orthopedic surgeon for the Orlando Solar Bears and is a team physician for West Orange High School and Wekiva High School.
His professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Medical Association.
