Dr. Matthew Angelelli is a board-certified psychiatrist at Orlando Health Medical Group Behavioral Health, where he also serves as medical director. His interests include taking care of patients and their families, and he also enjoys developing systems of care. At Orlando Health, he is focused on developing a comprehensive and integrated behavioral health network for the people of Florida.
He joined Orlando Health with 20 years of experience in a variety of healthcare roles. He has worked as a community psychiatrist and met with severely ill patients and their families in their homes. He worked in and managed behavioral health units. Dr. Angelelli also served as chief of psychiatry in a large healthcare system.
He is an expert in electronic health records systems and has developed and provided telepsychiatry services. Most recently he developed a psychiatric urgent care center to reduce wait times for patients to see a provider.
Dr. Angelelli’s Training
He earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Dr. Angelelli received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Virginia.
About Dr. Angelelli
Dr. Angelelli spent most of his career in Virginia. In addition to his administrative roles, Dr. Angelelli created a psychiatric medicine formulary, provided psychiatric care at an outpatient clinic for the severely mentally ill and served as a consultant for regional general hospitals. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
