Bio
Dr. Michael Kahky is a board-certified surgeon with the Breast Cancer Center at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. He is a member of the multidisciplinary group of experts who provide the most advanced care to patients. His specialties include:
- Breast cancer
- Benign and malignant thyroid disease
- Parathyroid disease
- Melanoma
Dr. Kahky believes in caring for his patients with a holistic approach that incorporates the highest-quality surgical care and the full restoration of normal function and appearance with the overall wellbeing of each individual.
Dr. Kahky’s Training
Dr. Kahky earned a bachelor’s degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He received his medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center, where he also completed his general surgery residency. He completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
About Dr. Kahky
Dr. Kahky is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, and he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Breast Surgeons. His professional memberships include the Society of Surgical Oncology and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.
Before joining Orlando Health, Dr. Kahky served as chief of surgery, was an instructor at several hospitals and universities and was a member of the surgical faculty in San Antonio.
Dr. Kahky has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and restoring vintage watches.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
