Bio
Dr. Nina Johnson is a board-certified radiation oncologist with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. She uses various forms of radiation to treat cancer patients, and her specialties include:
- Urologic cancers (prostate, bladder, kidney)
- Hematologic cancers (lymphomas, plasmacytoma, myeloma)
- Lung cancer
- Breast cancer
- Colorectal cancers
- Gynecologic cancers
- Head and neck cancer
- Brain tumors
- Sarcoma
- Skin cancers (melanoma, squamous cell, basal cell, Merkel cell)
- Benign conditions including osteoarthritis
- Pediatric cancers
Dr. Johnson strives to provide data-driven care in a compassionate and comprehensive manner using the highest-quality technology available. She wants each patient to understand why the treatment is being recommended so they can participate in their care plan.
Before she joined Orlando Health, Dr. Johnson served for more than 25 years as a radiation oncologist and medical director for facilities in Indiana and Michigan.
Dr. Johnson’s Training
Dr. Johnson graduated with high distinction with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University Medical School in Indianapolis and completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she served as chief resident her final year.
About Dr. Johnson
Dr. Johnson is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
She is skilled in intensity-modulated, image-guided, stereotactic radiation, high dose rate brachytherapy and targeted radionuclide therapy for prostate cancer.
Outside of work, Dr. Johnson is a runner and triathlete, having competed in multiple Ironman Triathlons and marathons. She also enjoys spending time with family, boating and shopping. She is fluent in Japanese and English.

Why do some Orlando Health physicians not have a patient experience rating?
The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
