Nishant H. Patel, MD - Pediatric Gastroenterology (GI)

Nishant Patel, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician with the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition. 

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the Universidad lberoamericana in the Dominican Republic, where he graduated in the top 10 percent. He performed his general pediatric residency at the MetroHealth Medical Center at Case Western Reserve University from 2009 to 2012. Dr. Patel was a pediatric hospitalist in Putnam, Conn., from 2012 to 2013 before starting his pediatric gastroenterology fellowship with the University of Florida’s fellowship program at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and Orlando Regional Medical Center. 

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. He is board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics. In 2016, Dr. Patel became a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Patel is active in research and education. His interests include celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux, obesity medicine, liver disease and medical education.

Dr. Patel has co-authored numerous abstracts, book chapters, and manuscripts on the topic of gastrointestinal illnesses that have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
