Dr. Nishith Patel is a board-certified interventional and diagnostic radiologist with Orlando Health Medical Group Radiology and president of the radiology group. He has cared for patients in Central Florida since 2017.
As an interventional radiologist, Dr. Patel uses medical imaging and minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions. His specialties include:
- Oncology interventions
- Prostate artery embolizations
- Uterine artery embolizations
- Vascular interventions
As a diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Patel interprets CT scans, ultrasounds, X-rays and MRIs.
His philosophy of care is to treat all patients as if they were family members. Most rewarding to him are successful interventions that dramatically improve a patient’s quality of life.
Dr. Patel’s Training
Dr. Patel received his medical training from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Morristown Medical Center/Atlantic Health System in New Jersey. His fellowship in interventional radiology was performed at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial, where he was chief fellow.
He received a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and animal physiology as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California – San Diego.

Dr. Patel is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in both interventional and diagnostic radiology. His professional memberships include the Society of Interventional Radiology, American College of Radiology and Radiological Society of North America.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, traveling and watching movies.
