Bio
Dr. Nyarai Mushonga is a dual board-certified urogynecologist and reconstructive pelvic surgeon with Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. She practices at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, part of the Orlando Health Women’s Institute. Her specialties include treating pelvic floor disorders, including:
- Urinary incontinence
- Pelvic organ prolapse (dropping of the bladder, uterus or vagina)
- Accidental bowel leaks (Fecal incontinence)
- Vaginal fistula repair
- Pelvic floor dysfunction
- Painful bladder syndrome, interstitial cystitis, recurrent UTIs
- Urethral diverticulum
She has a decade of experience practicing urogynecology in Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Mushonga’s Training
Dr. Mushonga earned a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and received her medical degree from Rutgers University's Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey. Dr. Mushonga completed an OB/GYN residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, where she served as chief resident, and a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Morristown, New Jersey.

Dr. Mushonga is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and licensed as a medical doctor by the Florida Department of Health. She is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and her professional memberships include the American Urogynecologic Society, American Medical Association and National Medical Association.
