Bio
Rachel Hayward is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, where she specializes in medical oncology and hematology. She has a clinical interest in cellular therapy. Rachel’s expertise includes:
- Performing physical exams on adult patients with acute conditions
- Taking patient histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic scans and laboratory tests
- Treating patients
- Educating patients about their conditions
- Collaborating with specialists
Rachel has clinical experience working in primary care and specialty practices, oncology clinics, infusion centers and surgical units.
She believes that all patients should be treated with kindness and respect. Rachel also thinks that patients know themselves best and encourages them to take part in their own healthcare decisions.
Rachel’s Training
After earning her bachelor’s degree in biology at D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York, Rachel earned a bachelor’s in nursing at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York, where she graduated on the dean’s list. Rachel then earned a Master of Science in nursing (MSN) with a concentration in family nurse practitioner studies at Utica College in New York.
About Rachel
Rachel is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center with additional certification as a bone marrow transplant nurse. She is licensed in Florida as an advanced practice registered nurse and a registered nurse.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and taking her dog on therapy visits to boost the morale of healthcare workers and patients.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
- The physician has not yet met the minimum number of 30 patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display.
- They may be a researcher or type of provider that does not see patients.
- They may practice in a specialty or office that has not yet implemented the specified surveys used for these ratings.
