Bio
Dr. Rafael Toro-Serra is a board-certified surgical oncologist with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute Head and Neck Center. His specialties include:
- Head and neck surgery
- Oral cavity tumors
- Salivary gland tumors
- Laryngeal tumors
- Transoral robotic surgery
- Endocrine surgery
- Mini parathyroid surgery
- Radio guided parathyroid surgery
- Minimally invasive thyroid surgery
Dr. Toro-Serra strives to treat all patents like family, keeping them free of disease so they can return to a normal life after treatment.
Dr. Toro-Serra’s Training
Dr. Toro-Serra received his medical degree from the Ponce School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Puerto Rico. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in New York, where he was named pediatric surgery Gold Star Resident of the Year. He completed a head and neck surgery fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Dr. Toro-Serra is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and his professional memberships include the American College of Surgeons and American Medical Association.
Dr. Toro-Serra has presented his clinical research at national conferences and contributed to a book chapter on parathyroid carcinoma.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, attending swim meets and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
Dr. Toro-Serra is fluent in English and Spanish.
