Bio
Rajesh M. Nair, MD, an oncology surgeon, is a member of the Department of Surgery at Orlando Health Cancer Institute and a member of Orlando Health's Graduate Medical Education team.
Dr. Nair graduated magna cum laude from the University of Akron in Ohio and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Pharmacy in Rootstown, OH. He spent three years at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia as a surgery resident and completed his surgical residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Nair fulfilled a fellowship in surgical oncology at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa. He serves as assistant professor of surgery for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and clinical assistant professor of surgery for the Florida State University College of Medicine.
He has been a principal investigator in multiple research projects and has presented at national and regional medical and surgical meetings, including the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and a Tripartite meeting with similar groups from Great Britain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand in conjunction with the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Nair has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Cancer Control, Diseases of the Colon & Rectum and The Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery. He has particular clinical interest in regional cancer therapy for peritoneal carcinomatosis (HIPEC) and limb infusion for patients with unrespectable extremity cancers.
