Bio
Dr. Raji Shameem is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute. His specialties include:
- Gastrointestinal medical oncology
- Genitourinary medical oncology
- Malignant hematology
- Targeted and personalized drug therapy
Dr. Shameem strives to provide personalized care to meet individual needs. He shares his patients’ struggles and victories as he seeks medical advances to help them.
Dr. Shameem’s Training
He received his medical training at Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his residency in internal medicine and was assistant chief resident at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Shameem completed his fellowship in oncology and hematology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. Shameem is triple board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in hematology, oncology and internal medicine.
Dr. Shameem has been published in many peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at various medical conferences. He has received multiple awards, including for excellence in clinical research and the Harry D. Fein Award for Clinical Excellence and Compassionate Patient Care. His professional memberships include the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Outside of work, Dr. Shameem enjoys spending time with his wife and children, strength training, and playing tennis. He is fluent in English and Urdu.
