Bio
Dr. Renee Mueller is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon with the Orlando Health Colon and Rectal Institute. She has cared for patients in Central Florida for 15 years and has been cited as a Top Doctor by Orlando Magazine since 2012. She specializes in:
- Robotic and laparoscopic-assisted colon and rectal surgery
- Colon and rectal cancer
- Diverticulitis
- Anorectal disease
Dr. Mueller also has expertise in anal rectal ultrasound, sphincter-saving techniques for rectal cancer, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and screening for colon cancer.
She strives to provide thorough and quality care for patients in an understanding and compassionate manner. She is the physician liaison for the colorectal surgery floor and works to improve communication between the doctors and nursing staff to provide excellent patient care.
Dr. Mueller’s Training
Dr. Mueller earned her medical degree at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, where she also completed her general surgery residency. She completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport.
About Dr. Mueller
Dr. Mueller is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and by the American Board of Surgery.
She serves as co-director of the Advanced Colon and Rectal Minimally Invasive Fellowship. She enjoys teaching at all levels including fellows, residents and medical students and values mentoring them clinically and professionally.
Dr. Mueller is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, a clinical assistant professor at Florida State University and a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University South Florida.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and being outside in the beautiful Florida weather by walking or biking.
