Dr. Ricardo Palmquist is a board-certified radiologist with fellowship training in nuclear medicine and neuroradiology with Orlando Health Medical Group Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging. He has been in practice for more than a decade.
Dr. Palmquist cares for patients who need interpretation of their nuclear imaging, which is used to examine organ function and structure. The most common nuclear scans include:
- Active infectious diseases or tumors
- Bone
- Brain
- Breast
- Heart
- Kidneys
- Thyroid
He strives to help each patient get the best care based on a proper imaging diagnosis.
Dr. Palmquist’s Training
Dr. Palmquist earned his medical degree at the Federal University of Paraná in Curitiba, Brazil. He completed residencies in internal medicine and diagnostic radiology at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital and was honored by being named Best Nuclear Medicine Resident and Most Valuable Resident in Body Imaging. Dr. Palmquist also completed fellowships in nuclear medicine and neuroradiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

Dr. Palmquist is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology and in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
He has presented his research at national conferences and been published in peer-reviewed publications.
Outside of work, Dr. Palmquist earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and he enjoys sports, traveling and trying new foods. He is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
