Bio
Dr. Riffat Ahmed is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with Orlando Health Cancer Institute, specializing in the detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. She has more than 20 years of experience, and she detects breast cancer at its earliest stage by using multi-modality screening and diagnostic breast imaging technologies such as:
- Digital mammography
- Digital breast tomosynthesis
- Breast ultrasound
- Breast MRI
- Molecular breast imaging
- Contrast enhanced mammography
- Stereotactic and MRI guided biopsies
- Ultrasound guided biopsies and aspirations
Dr. Ahmed considers every patient a VIP and treats everyone with empathy, dignity and compassion just the way she would like a family member to be treated.
As a breast cancer survivor, Dr. Ahmed knows what her patients are experiencing during diagnosis and treatment. Her goal as a breast imaging radiologist is to detect the disease at its earliest possible stage for better patient outcomes.
Dr. Ahmed’s Training
Dr. Ahmed received her medical training from Fatima Jinnah Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed residencies in internal medicine and radiology at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, and a fellowship in breast imaging and ultrasound at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
About Dr. Ahmed
Dr. Ahmed is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and board certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Her professional memberships include the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Medical Association and Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America.
Outside of work, Dr. Ahmed enjoys reading, cooking, embroidery and traveling. She is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
