Bio
Dr. Rudhir Tandon is a board-certified cardiologist with the Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute in downtown Orlando. He has 18 years of experience and specializes in interventional cardiology. Dr. Tandon is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. His expertise includes:
- Atherosclerotic arterial disease (coronary and peripheral arterial disease requiring intervention)
- Advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock and cardiac transplant
- Percutaneous mechanical circulatory support
- Deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary embolism
- Heart valve defects (percutaneous ASD/PFO closure)
- Pericardial effusion or tamponade requiring intervention
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Hypertension
- Hyperlipidemia

Dr. Tandon’s Training
Dr. Tandon received his medical training at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Rohtak, India, and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He also completed fellowships in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
About Dr. Tandon
Dr. Tandon is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in echocardiography by the American Board of Echocardiography and in nuclear cardiology the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Tandon is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiovascular Angiography.
He has written peer-reviewed medical research papers on topics including heart failure and transplantation and has presented his work at national conferences.
Outside of work, Dr. Tandon loves to travel with his family, exploring new destinations across the US and internationally. He also enjoys running, watching and playing tennis, cricket and soccer in addition to experimenting with new cuisines.
