Bio
Dr. Ryan Lawless is a trauma and acute care surgeon with Orlando Health Medical Group Surgery. He is board certified in general surgery with added qualifications in surgical critical care. His clinical interests include emergency general surgery and caring for critically injured patients in intensive care.

Dr. Lawless approaches patients with the utmost respect and compassion, knowing he is meeting them on their worst days. Dr. Lawless is driven to be on the cutting edge of treatment and technology to help his patients.
Dr. Lawless' Training
As an undergraduate, Dr. Lawless earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. He received his medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He completed a residency in general surgery at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
About Dr. Lawless
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
He was named one of Denver’s top doctors in general surgery in 2018 and in colon and rectal surgery in 2017 by 5280 magazine.
In addition to his certification as a director for the Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma and Advanced Trauma Life Support courses, Dr. Lawless has been published extensively in textbooks and peer-reviewed journals.
Outside of work, Dr. Lawless enjoys competing in endurance sports such as triathlons and half marathons, playing golf, traveling with his family and attending concerts.
