Stephen G. Hersperger, MD, is a surgeon with Orlando Health who is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Hersperger earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, and a BS degree in biology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma Department of Surgery, where he was chief resident in 2013-14. He also completed a fellowship in surgical critical care and emergency surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania – Penn Medicine, and a fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care at Penn Medicine’s Level 1 Trauma Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Hersperger served as an instructor of surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He has conducted research on traumatic brain injuries and infection, and the training of trauma providers. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
