Bio
Dr. Suresh Kannan is a board-certified pain management physician with the Orlando Spine Center, which is a multidisciplinary collaboration between Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute and Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute. He uses nonsurgical and minimally invasive treatments to care for patients who suffer from chronic pain conditions, including:
- Arthritis
- Herniated discs
- Spinal pain
- Spinal stenosis
- Neck and back pain
- Facet arthropathy
- Cervical radiculopathy
- Sciatica
With more than 40 years of healthcare experience, Dr. Kannan cares for patients suffering from chronic pain so disruptive that it makes it nearly impossible for them to go about daily life. He believes in taking a holistic approach to treatment.
Dr. Kannan’s Training
Dr. Kannan received his medical training, with a specialty in anesthesiology, from Government Medical College in Jabalpur, India. He completed an anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, which is affiliated with Harvard Medical School, and a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the University of Nevada in Reno.

Dr. Kannan is board certified in anesthesiology, pain medicine and hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. His professional memberships include the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and American Society of Regional Anesthesia.
Dr. Kannan has been recognized as a Top Regional Pain Doctor Orlando by Castle Connolly and a Top Doctor in Pain Medicine by Orlando magazine.
His research has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and he has delivered presentations on pain management.
